COVID-19 shut down the nation in 2020. Every community was effected by the virus, which cause us to halt the CPDAY in 2020. As people began to come back outside in 2021, we knew College Park Day was needed.
In 2021, we themed the jerseys from the classic movie “Above the Rim” and made merch with the green box that everyone loved. Word of mouth and Facebook post made the day even more popular bringing the city out that was once housed due to covid.
Bounce houses, prizes, basketball games, music, and a collective of neighborhood grill master bought the community together. One highlight from the VB Fire Department, was shooting a jump shot from the highest point of their aerial. At the end, we gave away 200 book bags stuffed with school supplies.
