The planning of CPDAY is always hectic. In 2022, we wanted to do something different to make this year just as special as the previous.
We started off with the slogan “I’m So College Park” to help promote the day, but it was the “College Park Family” shirts that pictured everyone on the basketball court that everyone loved and bought to help fund the event.
This year we added the women’s free-throw contest, for the women that have been supporting us from the beginning. Ten women tried to make as many free-throws as possible in one minute. Ms. Johnson won the event. (pictured below)
It was another beautiful day that captured the College Park community. Elders and youth got a chance to meet and bridge the gap, a collective of College Park Elementary teachers joined the fun and cooked for some of their students, two politicians stopped by along with the VB Fire Department.
It was the Darius VS Dayday Old Timer’s basketball game that got everyone talking, with Dayday’s team winning by one point. In the end, we gave out 200 draw string book bags with school supplies.
