A huge thank you to Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation for having us at their Parks After Dark program at College Park Elementary. We were able to supply over 100 families with back-to-school essentials all packed in our custom College Park canvas bags filled with notebooks, pencils, headphones, and more.
It was our pleasure meeting new faces, connecting with fellow community leaders, and sharing the mission of our foundation.
We started the night with about 20 kids gathered for a spirited game of Knockout. Karter (10) took first place but immediately gave his prize, a brand new laptop, to Londyn (10). Jamie (9), our runner-up, received a $50 Certificate courtesy DICK’S Sporting Goods.
To end the night, our free community raffle brought in some excitement. Jason, who almost left early, decided to stay for his family and it paid off! His number was called, and they went home with a new laptop.
We are especially grateful to Sentara Health for helping us continue the work we do in our community and giving the youth a head start for the school year.
