Today, our founder, DaSean, appeared on The Hampton Roads Show to share the mission of the Greenbox Foundation, to uplift and empower underserved communities through the game of basketball. He spoke passionately about our upcoming signature event, Ball for a Cause, which will take place on August 31, 2025, at City View Park. This event is more than just a basketball tournament; it is a movement to raise both funds and awareness for much-needed upgrades to the park’s basketball courts. Our vision is to transform City View into a safe, high-quality space where youth and families can gather, connect, and grow together through the game we love.
During the segment, DaSean also highlighted our annual College Park Community Day in Virginia Beach, a tradition that brings families together each year. Through basketball games, interactive activities, and the distribution of back-to-school essentials, we provide direct support to more than 200 local children annually. Events like this reflect the heart of our mission: to use basketball as a bridge, creating opportunities for the next generation and inspiring hope within our community.
With Ball for a Cause, we are committed to raising the final $5,000 needed to partner with the City of Virginia Beach to replace the aging basketball goals at City View Park. This milestone will bring us closer to ensuring the park is equipped with safe, durable, and professional-quality courts for years to come.
